The Pont Yeu comes from a charming island of the coast of the Vendée. According to a legend this island was at one time attached to the mainland by a bridge. Pont Yeu cheeses form is a cone shape with a concave top and bottom. The rind is sprinkled in wood ash. A Muscadet is an ideal wine with this cheese. The Pont Yeu has an iodine and salty taste which comes from grasses that are exposed throughout the year to salty air of the sea. A refreshing and fortifying savor. The paste of Pont Yeu is thick and granular.
